My internship with WCS has been a great stepping stone that has led me to kick start my career. Terry offered me an opportunity to be an intern at WCS. Despite being a small firm, Terry has always been professional with work and his dealings with stakeholders. I was able to learn skills that one cannot learn in a classroom and got familiarized to the working culture.
This internship has allowed me to hone my skills, especially those in my field of study, developing accounting processes, building confidence over the phone and composing professional emails to various stakeholders. I was fortunate to be able to be trained and coached through this internship at WCS and would recommend this program to those who have interests in working for a small business as a head start to your future career.
My experience with the WCS Internship has been a positive one.
The fierce competition to get into a professional environment is made harder by the ridiculously high standard requirements and expectations—including a long list of prerequisite job experience—that is asked of every applicant, leaving newcomers to the jobs market to pick from the bottom of the barrel.
Not only has WCS’s Internship program let me gain the experience of working in a real professional environment, but it also offered me further employment and an opportunity to branch out into any other career path I choose with a strong foundation and numerous more networking connections.
For me personally, taking on WCS’s Internship program was a good choice, and I’d recommend it to other graduates and uni students looking for work experience.
